Saturday Song Lyrics

Since many bonspiels (ok, mostly ladies and mixed) have themes and team skits, every Saturday we'll be posting a new song where the lyrics have been changed to fit the sport of curling.

Thanks to a member from the Sudbury Curling Club for today's song, based on the tune King of the Road. If you'd like to have your song featured, please send it to curler@curlingbonspiels.com

Curling's our game, it's fun. Bonspieling has begun.
Husbands are unaware, we're girls on the road with flair
Ah but, two hours of pushin' broom wears a
girl out, we've lost our bloom
We're crashin' after this game, Queens of the Rink

We're still a little stiff but it's destination Copper Cliff
Play takeouts, guards and draws, make the shots if we don't hit
straw
We're here to defend last year's win, when we had left with a grin
We're curlers with flair at all times, Queens of the Rink

We know every curling club in every town
All of the players, ladies of renown
And every game we play, we try hard to win
And every time we do, we Queens start to sing

We sing

Curling's our game, it's fun. Bonspieling has begun.
Husbands are unaware, we're girls on the road with flair
Ah but, two hours of pushin' broom wears a
girl out, we've lost our bloom
We're crashin' after this game, Queens of the Rink
